The Advanced Center for Aerospace Technologies (CATEC) is Spain’s leading private technology center for UAS development, with over 15 years of experience and a staff of over 120 professionals. CATEC has participated in over 20 projects related to infrastructure inspection and monitoring and more than 30 European projects related to UAS. Moreover, CATEC is complemented by two experimental flight centers in the Andalusia region, namely ATLAS Alpha and ATLAS Bravo.

CATEC’s main goal is to promote and develop technological knowledge and its transfer to the industrial aerospace production fabric, through activities of applied research, technological development, and knowledge management (prospective, surveillance and competitive intelligence, protection, transfer, and industrialization). The center has developed novel technologies at international level, such as aerial manipulation with drones, landing of a UAV on a mobile platform without GPS, and autonomous intelligent navigation in indoor environments, flying in urban aeras with autonomous detect and avoid.
